Specialist Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon

About the role

Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Hospital (SSBZHospital) is seeking a Specialist Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon to join its multidisciplinary team. The role involves delivering comprehensive surgical and clinical care for a wide range of maxillofacial conditions, ensuring patient outcomes meet international best‑practice standards.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage oral and maxillofacial conditions, including facial trauma, infections, tumors, and congenital anomalies.
• Perform surgical procedures such as extractions (including impacted teeth), dental implants, orthognathic surgery, and reconstructive maxillofacial operations.
• Conduct pre‑operative assessments, obtain informed consent, and provide post‑operative care and follow‑up.
• Participate in on‑call emergency coverage and manage maxillofacial emergencies.
• Collaborate with ENT, plastic surgery, oncology, and dental teams to deliver integrated patient care.
• Maintain accurate patient records in line with hospital standards and regulatory requirements.
• Adhere to infection‑control, patient‑safety, and quality‑assurance protocols.
• Engage in continuous medical education, clinical audits, and departmental quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Board‑certified or equivalent qualification in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.
• Extensive experience in diagnosing and treating complex maxillofacial conditions.
• Proven ability to perform advanced surgical procedures, including implants and orthognathic surgery.
• Strong commitment to patient‑centered care and multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Excellent clinical documentation and regulatory compliance skills.
