Specialist Petroleum Engineering

About the role

The Specialist Petroleum Engineer will support the design and optimisation of wells and surface facilities for offshore fields throughout their development life‑cycle. The role involves cost estimation, technical review, and participation in production‑enhancement projects to meet ADNOC’s oil and gas output targets.

Key responsibilities

• Review and optimise well design concepts (production, injection, vertical, deviated, horizontal, multilateral) and associated facility layouts.
• Estimate capital and operating expenditures for wells and facilities over the field’s full life‑cycle.
• Assess proposals for well completions, testing, re‑entry, hydraulic fracturing, stimulation, artificial lift and corrosion/scale inhibition.
• Collaborate with technical centres and production functions to prepare and evaluate stimulation and artificial‑lift programmes.
• Monitor studies from ADNOC Group and SPC partners, recommend actions to improve field development plans and operational efficiency.
• Analyse well history, pressure, flow‑rate and gas‑quality data to propose innovative technologies and optimisation studies.

Required profile

• Degree in Petroleum Engineering or related discipline.
• Proven experience in offshore well design, completion and production optimisation.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate technical studies and cost estimates.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external contractors.
