Specialist Physician – Medical General Radiology

About the role

The Specialist Physician in Medical General Radiology joins the clinical team at SSMC to deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based, patient‑centered care. Working under the supervision of a Consultant Physician, the role combines direct patient management with the mentorship of junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat patients according to best‑practice standards for general radiology.
• Lead ward rounds, reassess in‑patients and out‑patients, and document clinical information promptly.
• Supervise junior medical staff and share responsibility for their patient care.
• Participate in multi‑disciplinary meetings and coordinate with other specialties.
• Ensure appropriate utilization of resources and compliance with hospital policies.
• Provide out‑of‑hours on‑call coverage on a rotational basis.
• Support departmental initiatives, performance management, and incident reporting.

Required profile

• Qualified medical doctor with a specialty in general radiology.
• Experience working in a hospital setting, preferably in a supervisory role.
• Commitment to clinical excellence and continuous learning.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
