Specialist Visceral Surgeon – Immediate Hiring

About the role

We are looking for a highly qualified Specialist Visceral Surgeon to join a leading healthcare facility in Dubai. The role involves delivering comprehensive surgical care for abdominal and gastrointestinal conditions, both elective and emergency, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct surgical consultations, clinical assessments and pre‑operative evaluations.
• Diagnose and manage a wide range of gastrointestinal and abdominal surgical conditions.
• Perform elective and emergency abdominal surgeries, including procedures on the stomach, small intestine, colon, rectum, liver, gallbladder, pancreas and other organs.
• Execute laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgeries where qualified.
• Handle acute abdominal emergencies such as appendicitis, bowel obstruction, perforation, gastrointestinal bleeding and trauma.
• Provide comprehensive pre‑operative and post‑operative patient care.
• Interpret laboratory results and diagnostic imaging (ultrasound, CT, MRI).
• Collaborate with gastroenterologists, oncologists, radiologists, anesthesiologists, intensivists and other specialists.
• Maintain accurate medical records, operative notes and clinical documentation.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives and CME.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, hospital policies, infection control and patient safety standards.
• Take part in on‑call duties and emergency surgical coverage as required.

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
• Postgraduate qualification in General Surgery / Visceral Surgery (MS, DNB, FRCS, Arab Board or equivalent).
• Minimum 3 years of post‑specialization experience as a Specialist Visceral Surgeon.
• Strong experience in gastrointestinal and abdominal surgery.
• Proven experience in laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery (preferred).
• Experience in emergency abdominal surgery (highly preferred).
• Excellent clinical judgment, surgical skills and decision‑making abilities.
