Speech and Language Therapist – Inpatient/Outpatient

About the role

The Speech and Language Therapist joins Amana Healthcare’s Rehabilitation team in Abu Dhabi, providing assessment and treatment for patients with speech, language and swallowing disorders. Working across inpatient and outpatient settings, the therapist will support both paediatric and adult populations, ensuring care aligns with DOH and Amana policies.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct screening, comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and treatment for speech, language, communication and dysphagia.
• Apply evidence‑based practice and international clinical guidelines to design patient‑specific therapeutic interventions.
• Deliver individual, group and family therapy sessions in hospital, community and educational environments.
• Review patient histories to identify congenital, developmental or acquired neurological causes.
• Perform instrumental and bedside swallowing assessments and recommend appropriate diet modifications.
• Develop and implement multidisciplinary therapy plans, track progress and maintain accurate clinical records.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and departmental activities.

Required profile

• Qualified Speech and Language Pathologist with paediatric and/or adult specialty and dysphagia competencies.
• Ability to manage an inpatient and/or outpatient caseload according to operational needs.
• Familiarity with DOH regulations and Amana Healthcare policies, procedures and standards.
• Strong collaborative skills to work with healthcare professionals and families.
