Team Leader – Public Areas

About the role

As the Team Leader for Public Areas at One&Only One Za'abeel, you will ensure that all guest‑facing spaces are immaculate, safe and fully operational. You will lead a team of housekeeping and maintenance staff, drive training programmes and oversee daily inspections to maintain the resort’s high standards of cleanliness and presentation.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and inspect all public areas multiple times daily, checking for cleanliness, maintenance issues and safety hazards.
• Deliver regular, motivating training sessions and monitor their effectiveness.
• Report defects immediately and follow up to ensure timely resolution.
• Assist in implementing preventative maintenance programmes for public spaces.
• Control issuance and return of machinery, equipment and supplies; maintain par stock of guest and cleaning supplies.
• Conduct monthly inventories of chemicals, supplies and equipment; keep a daily log of assignments, repairs and special cleaning tasks.
• Inspect floral arrangements in public areas and coordinate changes with the florist.
• Create and update deep‑cleaning schedules (monthly, quarterly, yearly) and coordinate with external suppliers for specialised cleaning services.

Required profile

• Minimum 24 months (2 years) of experience supervising housekeeping or public‑area teams in a hospitality environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve maintenance or safety issues quickly.
• Proven ability to train, motivate and lead a diverse team.
• Organisational skills for inventory management, scheduling and reporting.
