Technician - Building Management Systems

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Technician to be based in Abu Dhabi and manage the Building Management System (BMS) across multiple data centre sites in the UAE. The role ensures optimal environmental control, operational efficiency and compliance within critical facility environments.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and manage BMS platforms across several locations to guarantee performance and environmental stability.
• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of BMS‑controlled equipment such as HVAC, chillers, UPS and generators.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors for installations, upgrades and repairs.
• Analyse system trends and propose energy‑saving initiatives to improve performance.
• Support commissioning activities for new systems and infrastructure expansions.
• Ensure BMS operations comply with safety regulations and industry standards.
• Prepare and maintain documentation, reports and logs.
• Identify service‑enhancement opportunities and assist in proposal development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical, Mechanical or Automation Engineering.
• 4–6 years of experience working with BMS in data centre or other critical facilities.
• Availability for on‑call support in mission‑critical environments.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Johnson Controls BMS platforms.
• Knowledge of Modbus, BACnet and LonWorks communication protocols.
• Experience with HVAC, chillers, UPS and generator systems.
• Familiarity with data centre subsystems such as fire suppression and access control.
