Technology Portfolio Specialist

About the role

AL TARIQ is looking for a Technology Portfolio Specialist with a defence or military technology background to drive capability analysis, technology road‑mapping and long‑term planning for aerospace and defence systems. The role will support senior stakeholders in shaping the future technology strategy across a range of platforms and missions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct technology capability assessments for defence systems, platforms and supporting technologies.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date technology inventory and baseline capability data for existing programmes.
• Analyse emerging aerospace and defence technologies such as sensors, autonomous systems, electronic warfare, communications and mission systems.
• Develop 5‑10 year technology roadmaps aligned with operational and mission requirements.
• Prepare technical briefings, analysis reports and roadmap presentations for senior leadership.
• Collaborate with engineers, programme teams and subject‑matter experts to validate capability data.
• Support technology portfolio governance, reporting and documentation activities.

Required profile

• Mandatory defence or military technology background.
• Experience in defence R&D, capability development, engineering or technology strategy.
• Proven track record with technology road‑mapping, capability assessment or Technology Readiness Level (TRL) evaluation.
• Degree in Engineering, Aerospace, Defence Technology, Systems Engineering or a related applied science.
• Experience working with defence programmes, military platforms or government defence organisations.
