Telecom Engineer - PTandD

About the role

The Telecom Engineer will lead the installation, testing, integration and commissioning of telecommunication and SCADA systems for substation projects. The role ensures reliable communication between substations and control centres while adhering to design specifications, safety standards and project timelines.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise day‑to‑day telecom and communication system installation at substation sites, ensuring compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
• Oversee installation, configuration, testing and commissioning of SDH/MPLS routers, switches, RTUs, teleprotection, CCTV, access‑control, PA and networking equipment.
• Conduct pre‑commissioning checks, troubleshoot communication failures and maintain detailed records of testing and acceptance.
• Perform quality control inspections, raise observations and coordinate corrective actions with QA/QC engineers.
• Collaborate with electrical, protection, SCADA, civil teams and external vendors to ensure seamless project execution.

Required profile

• Proven experience in telecom and SCADA system installation on substation projects.
• Strong understanding of project schedules, safety requirements and quality standards.
• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and manage subcontractor activities.
