VAT Manager – Advisory & Compliance

About the role

We are seeking a VAT Manager to lead our Value Added Tax advisory and compliance practice. The role involves supporting a diverse portfolio of clients across sectors such as financial services, real estate, FMCG and hospitality, delivering high‑quality VAT solutions in the UAE.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage complex VAT engagements from inception to completion, providing sound technical judgement and risk assessment.
• Build and maintain trusted client relationships by understanding business models, commercial priorities and VAT risk exposure.
• Act as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of clients, ensuring consistent communication and timely delivery of outputs.
• Drive business development by identifying new opportunities, participating in pitches and converting prospects into long‑term relationships.
• Research and interpret UAE VAT legislation, FTA clarifications, Cabinet decisions and Ministerial resolutions to provide accurate guidance.
• Monitor GCC VAT developments and apply relevant regional precedents where applicable.
• Review and prepare VAT returns, advisory memoranda, technical opinions and client correspondence.
• Manage FTA audit processes, voluntary disclosures, reconsideration requests and objections on behalf of clients.
• Supervise, coach and mentor junior and mid‑level VAT consultants, providing feedback and technical guidance.

Required profile

• Strong technical knowledge of UAE VAT law and GCC VAT developments.
• Proven ability to manage end‑to‑end VAT projects and deliver high‑quality client service.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Business development mindset with experience in pitching and winning new work.
• Leadership experience supervising junior staff.
