Vice President - Legal Counsel

About the role

The Vice President – Legal Counsel will provide broad‑based legal support to Aldar’s investment business, covering real estate, corporate and operational matters across the portfolio. The role involves advising on and managing transactions, overseeing leasing, ensuring compliance and mitigating risk to help achieve strategic objectives locally and internationally.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, structure, draft and negotiate real estate and corporate transactions, including asset and share deals, M&A, joint ventures and strategic investments.
• Oversee leasing documentation for commercial, residential, retail, logistics and hospitality assets and support tenant management, renewals and enforcement.
• Draft, review and negotiate property management, facilities management, licences, permits and service agreements.
• Collaborate with internal teams such as Commercial, Finance, Treasury, Tax, Insurance, Strategy and Asset Management to coordinate legal inputs.
• Manage external counsel on transactional, regulatory and operational matters, ensuring cost control and alignment with internal standards.
• Provide proactive legal risk advice, ensure policy compliance and improve legal processes and templates.
• Support senior legal team on large‑scale strategic projects, acquisitions, divestments and group‑level structuring initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in an international law firm or large in‑house environment.
• At least 2 years of managerial experience leading legal teams or projects.
• Strong understanding of UAE legal systems, regulatory frameworks and real‑estate law.
