Workshop Manager – Equipment Rental

About the role

The Workshop Manager will lead QER’s workshop operations in the UAE, overseeing a diverse fleet of rental equipment. You will manage a technical team, allocate workloads, and ensure timely, high-quality repairs to meet customer expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage shop‑floor efficiency to deliver equipment quickly while maintaining high repair quality.
• Optimize utilization, productivity, and efficiency of all workshop staff.
• Distribute jobs, control progress, and follow up to ensure tasks are completed on schedule.
• Deliver quality repairs that enhance customer satisfaction and reduce repeat work.
• Provide training and coaching to improve team skills and performance.
• Conduct pre‑repair and post‑repair inspections to verify issues and effectiveness.
• Perform pre‑delivery inspections for equipment going on hire and inspect off‑hired equipment against delivery checklists.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, warranty guidelines, and safety procedures.
• Coordinate with operations, store, and logistics teams for smooth workflow.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing and leading a diverse technical team.
• Demonstrated ability to monitor and improve workshop KPIs and operational efficiency.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 10 years recent experience in automotive or heavy‑equipment workshops, preferably in a dealership environment.
• Experience with a diverse fleet of rental equipment.

Required skills

• Technical report writing and presentation.
• Identification of heavy‑equipment parts using manuals, SIS, and other sources.
