A320 Captain (UAE National)

About the role

The airline is looking for an A320 Captain who will conduct assigned flights in line with the Airline Operational Manual and civil aviation regulations, ensuring safety, security and efficiency on every flight. The Captain supports and guides the flight and cabin crew, handles emergencies and ad-hoc scenarios and takes control of the flight.

Key responsibilities

• Fly the assigned aircraft on schedule and approved flight plans, prioritising safety, then efficiency and passenger comfort
• Ensure flights follow the Operations Manual and regulations, and that the crew is present, groomed and fit
• Brief the crew on flight details and liaise with co-pilots and dispatch on aircraft status, route, weather, fuel, weight and role distribution
• Use fuel efficiently within safety limits and carry out safety, security, fuel and transit checks
• Work with maintenance engineers, MCC and MROs to confirm aircraft airworthiness and fix defects
• Load technical logs, journey books and boarding sheets accurately, and keep the Operations Manual up to date and understood by the crew
• Keep up to date with legal requirements of regulators such as the civil aviation authority and Airbus, and take on ground-based safety or security roles when asked

Required profile

• ATPL licence is mandatory, along with passing the airline's technical and psychometric assessment and medical fitness check
• Minimum 4,000 hours of flying, with Airbus A320 experience preferred
• Experience with low-cost airlines is highly desirable
• Knowledge of aircraft systems, operations, and QA/safety/security/audit procedures
• Ability to handle emergencies, heavy schedules and ad-hoc situations, and to solve problems cost-effectively
• Formal safety and emergency response training is essential; crew resource management, airport security procedures and IATA security standards are advantages
• Very good English; other local languages are an advantage
