About the role
We are looking for an Able Seaman to join NMDC Group’s deck crew on offshore anchor handling tugs. The role involves maintaining safe navigation watches and performing routine deck and equipment maintenance while operating in sea, port and anchor conditions.
Key responsibilities
- Stand sea, port and anchor watches, handling steering and lookout duties.
- Maintain accommodation watertight doors, ventilation fans and ship access controls.
- Service mooring, anchor and lifeboat winches, as well as associated ropes and wires.
- Inspect, clean and grease lifeboats, ballast valves and superstructure decks, including the aft deck area.
- Carry out washing and cleaning of superstructure decks and ensure gangway operations are safe.
Required profile
- Certificate in Navigational Watch Keeping (II/4) from an approved nautical institute.
- At least 2 years of experience as an able‑bodied seaman on anchor handling tugs serving offshore oilfields.
- Strong understanding of safe practices for anchor handling and towing operations.
- Good command of English for clear communication on board.
Required skills
- Navigational watch‑keeping (II/4) certification.
- Anchor handling and towing operation knowledge.
- Deck equipment maintenance (winches, ropes, valves).
- English language proficiency.
