Accountant – Accounts Payable (Finance) – UAE National

About the role

The Finance team at Al Futtaim Group is looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Accountant to manage the full accounting cycle for mall operations in the Arabian Centre. The role ensures accurate financial records, compliance with VAT and corporate tax regulations, and supports budgeting and forecasting activities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the complete accounting cycle for mall expenses, monthly closing, accruals and reporting.
• Apply correct VAT codes, verify expenses against FTA guidelines and prepare schedules for corporate tax.
• Process purchase orders, validate LPOs, code and post approved expenses to the appropriate GL accounts.
• Release payments in line with company policies, DOA approvals and cash‑flow considerations.
• Prepare expense trackers, monthly reports and balance‑sheet reconciliations for the Finance Manager.
• Coordinate with Accounts Receivable, FP&A, external auditors and banks for recoverable expenses and DOA updates.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of relevant experience in business finance, preferably in real‑estate or retail.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage stakeholder relationships.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Extensive knowledge of SAP or other ERP financial software.
• Ability to accurately book financial data and identify trends.
• Understanding of accounting standards and VAT regulations.
