Tax Director / VAT Manager

About the role

The Tax Director / VAT Manager will lead tax planning, compliance and advisory activities, ensuring adherence to UAE tax laws while supporting the company's financial objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee corporate tax, VAT and related compliance in line with UAE regulations.
• Prepare, review and submit VAT and corporate tax returns on time.
• Monitor legislative changes, assess impact and implement compliance measures.
• Develop tax planning strategies to optimise efficiency and minimise exposure.
• Review financial records, tax calculations and supporting documentation for accuracy.
• Manage tax audits, assessments and correspondence with the Federal Tax Authority.
• Provide tax advice to senior management on transactions and contractual arrangements.
• Identify tax risks, strengthen internal controls and establish governance policies.
• Oversee VAT reconciliation, input tax recovery and related accounting adjustments.
• Coordinate with finance, legal, auditors and external consultants to resolve tax matters.
• Lead and develop the tax team, ensuring high‑quality delivery of services.
• Prepare tax reports, risk assessments and management updates.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation or related field; professional qualifications (ACCA, CPA, CTA) preferred.
• 5–8 years of relevant tax experience, with leadership experience for director‑level roles.
• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT, corporate tax and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with VAT return preparation, tax planning, audits and risk management.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
• High integrity, accuracy and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with accounting software and tax reporting systems.
