Accountant - Facilities Services (Dubai)

About the role

A facilities services group in the United Arab Emirates is looking for an experienced, detail-oriented finance professional to join its DXB-FINANCE-FLC department. The role covers comprehensive accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with local regulations and effective financial control.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, examine and analyse accounting records, financial statements and reports for accuracy and compliance with standards.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoices, payments and collections.
• Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with budgets, forecasts and financial planning reports.
• Ensure compliance with UAE financial regulations, tax laws and VAT reporting and filings.
• Coordinate with internal departments and external auditors during audits and implement audit recommendations.
• Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules.
• Monitor financial performance metrics and support month-end and year-end closing, including journal entries and ledger maintenance.
• Use accounting software and ERP systems and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• CPA, ACCA or CMA certification highly desirable.
• 3-5 years of accounting experience in facilities services or a related industry in the UAE.
• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT regulations.
• Ability to manage several financial tasks under tight deadlines.

• Financial reporting, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliation, budgeting and forecasting.
• UAE VAT compliance, audit coordination, fixed asset management.
• ERP software proficiency (e.g. SAP, Oracle).
