Accountant – Finance Team

About the role

Reneco is looking for an experienced Accountant to join its Finance team in Abu Dhabi. The role involves handling daily accounting activities, supporting month‑end and year‑end closings, and ensuring accurate financial records for audits and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Record daily accounting transactions with correct coding and approvals.
• Process supplier invoices, verify supporting documents and prepare payment requests.
• Issue customer invoices, monitor balances and follow up on overdue payments.
• Review employee expense claims and advances, ensuring compliance and timely settlement.
• Perform bank reconciliations, maintain petty cash records and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare journal entries, including accruals, pre‑payments and payroll‑related entries.
• Maintain the fixed asset register, record additions/disposals and calculate depreciation.
• Reconcile supplier, customer and other balance‑sheet accounts, resolving outstanding items.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing and prepare required accounting schedules.
• Prepare accounting reports, highlight unusual transactions and provide documentation for internal and external audits.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Minimum five years of relevant accounting experience.
• Good knowledge of accounting principles, bookkeeping, reconciliations and financial closing.
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger entries.
• Full professional proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Strong attention to detail, organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Oracle ERP systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for reconciliations and reporting.
