Accountant – Financial Platform (Abu Dhabi)

About the role

We are a regulated financial platform operating in Abu Dhabi (ADGM) that provides custody, global markets execution, trading, advisory and asset management services to professional and institutional clients. We are looking for an experienced accountant to manage end‑to‑end accounting operations and ensure compliance with IFRS and local regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee monthly close, accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger maintenance.
• Prepare statutory financial statements, regulatory returns and monthly management reports.
• Execute journal entries, accruals, reconciliations and the full financial close process on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, internal accounting policies and ADGM/DIFC reporting standards.
• Prepare and submit VAT, corporate tax and other tax filings where applicable.
• Maintain bank, client money and custody reconciliations.
• Manage invoicing, payment processing, cash management and the fixed‑asset register.
• Coordinate the annual external audit and liaise with auditors, regulators and service providers.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of experience in the financial industry, including at least two years in a brokerage or similar trading environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA or ACA is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards.
• Familiarity with ADGM or DIFC regulatory reporting requirements.
• Understanding of Global Markets products (Fixed Income, Equities, FX, REPOs) from an accounting perspective.
