Accountant (Fixed Assets)

About the role

The Fixed Assets Accountant is a core member of the finance team, responsible for accurate recording, maintenance and monitoring of the company’s fixed assets. This role ensures compliance with accounting standards and company policies while supporting the organization’s financial integrity and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Reconcile the Fixed Assets Ledger and ensure compliance with accounting standards and procedures.
• Develop and implement policies for categorising and capitalising assets in line with global accounting standards.
• Oversee asset insertion, write‑off, transfer, amendment and disposal, ensuring all transactions are recorded in the asset register.
• Capitalize monthly asset additions, update the register for changes or recoveries, and coordinate transfers between business units and petrol stations.
• Prepare documentation for the sale of rented equipment and compile reports on excess or shortage of assets.
• Supervise the annual physical verification of fixed assets and produce detailed verification reports.
• Collaborate with cost‑centre heads to monitor amendments and transfers, reconcile depreciation registers with the nominal ledger, and prepare monthly cost and depreciation schedules.
• Generate inter‑regional transfer schedules and lists of outstanding commitments for financial oversight.
