Accountant – Oil & Gas Sector

About the role

Cegelec Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Accountant to support its engineering and contracting activities for the Oil & Gas industry. You will be responsible for end‑to‑end accounting operations across multiple entities, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with UAE regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage accounting tasks for several companies, including supplier invoicing and vendor payments.
• Perform day‑to‑day bank entries, monthly reconciliations, and cash management.
• Process payroll inputs, salary payments, final settlements and petty‑cash transactions.
• Prepare client invoices, debit notes, and revenue forecasts.
• Compile accrual files, assist with VAT and corporate tax returns, and support audit preparation.
• Maintain and reconcile balance‑sheet and general‑ledger accounts.
• Generate financial analyses, trial balances, and periodic closing reports.
• Coordinate accounting programs and contribute to system improvements.

Required profile

• 4–5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in the oil & gas or similar industrial sector.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Working knowledge of UAE tax laws.
• Strong financial analysis, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
