Accounting Manager – Middle East

About the role

The Accounting Manager – Middle East will lead the finance function for King & Spalding’s regional offices. Reporting to senior finance leadership, you will ensure accurate accounting, financial reporting and robust controls across the UAE and KSA locations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage monthly, quarterly and annual close processes for Middle East offices, meeting deadlines and ensuring completeness.
• Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, intercompany balances and balance‑sheet schedules.
• Prepare financial statements, management reports and supporting schedules in line with applicable accounting standards and firm policies.
• Oversee sub‑ledger accounts including accounts receivable, work‑in‑process and accounts payable, ensuring timely reconciliations.
• Analyse financial results, providing commentary on variances, trends, risks and business performance.
• Coordinate statutory audits and year‑end reporting with external auditors and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain relationships with external accounting firms, regulators and other professional advisors.
• Monitor changes in local accounting, tax and regulatory requirements and advise finance leadership on potential impacts.
• Lead internal and external audit responses, preparing schedules and supporting documentation.

Required profile

• Significant experience in accounting or finance within the Middle East, preferably in a professional services environment.
• In‑depth knowledge of UAE and KSA accounting, tax and regulatory frameworks and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Proven ability to manage close processes, financial reporting and audit coordination.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, capable of presenting financial insights to senior leadership.
• Ability to work collaboratively with finance, tax, treasury, operations and external advisors.
