Accounts & Tax Executive

About the role

The Accounts & Tax Executive is a key finance role responsible for managing and ensuring compliance with the company's financial processes, including routine bookkeeping, preparation and filing of tax documents and financial reporting. The position is part-time and based in Dubai, and suits someone who is detail-oriented, highly organised and understands tax and accounting principles.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records according to accounting standards.
• Ensure timely filing of all tax returns and related documentation.
• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Review and reconcile accounts regularly to ensure accuracy.
• Advise management on tax changes and their impact on the business.
• Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies during audits and inspections.
• Perform risk assessments and develop strategies to ensure tax compliance.
• Manage and supervise junior accounting staff and provide training.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure proper financial controls, conduct internal audits and prepare reports supporting financial planning and budgeting.
• Stay up to date with tax legislation and accounting guidelines.

Required profile

• Own visa and able to work freely from the office or another place.
• At least three years of experience in accounting and tax compliance roles.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and tax regulations.
• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage several projects at once, and to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• CPA or equivalent certification is an added advantage; internal audit experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Required skills

• Proficiency in QuickBooks (QB) and other accounting software.
• Microsoft Office Suite.
