AFC Systems and Reporting Specialist

About the role

The AFC Systems and Reporting Specialist is responsible for the daily operation, monitoring and reporting of Automated Fare Collection (AFC) systems across Metro, Tram and related test laboratories in Al Qusais and the RTA Headquarters. The role works on a rotating shift and requires proactive decision‑making in coordination with the AFC Systems Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Publish daily, weekly and monthly AFC performance reports to RTA and Keolis‑MHI management.
• Monitor network health, disk space, AFC packages and Level 3 servers, workstations and equipment.
• Perform proactive health checks, system administration and preventive maintenance for all AFC hardware and software.
• Coordinate troubleshooting, trace collection, reboots and fault logging with the Fault Monitoring and Control unit.
• Manage backup operations, file restoration and RAID drive replacements.
• Upload the latest equipment operating data from Level 4 to all AFC devices.
• Maintain operator access control for ticket machines, gates and portable checking devices.
• Log issues in Maximo, analyse system logs and follow up on faults.
• Participate in software deployment, testing and release communication.

Required profile

• Experience with AFC or similar transport fare collection systems.
• Ability to work independently on rotating shifts.
• Strong analytical skills for fault investigation and system log analysis.
• Good coordination with RTA, maintenance teams and internal stakeholders.
