AI Application Development Engineer Intern – Procurement

About the role

ByteDance’s Corporate Service System team is modernising its procurement platform by building AI‑native agents that can plan, act and deliver decisions at scale. As an AI Application Development Engineer Intern you will work side‑by‑side with senior engineers on the cutting‑edge System AI Harness that powers these agents, gaining hands‑on experience from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the design, implementation and validation of Procurement Agent features under mentor guidance.
• Develop and maintain backend services, business logic and data pipelines that support AI‑driven procurement workflows.
• Explore and prototype AI Agent capabilities such as automated planning and decision making.
• Contribute to code quality, testing and documentation to ensure reliable system performance.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a university programme (undergraduate or graduate) related to Computer Science, Engineering or a similar field.
• Available to start the internship in 2027 and able to work on‑site in Dubai for the duration.
• Strong interest in artificial intelligence, machine learning and large‑scale system design.

Required skills

• Experience with programming languages and software development (e.g., Python, Java, or similar).
• Familiarity with building or consuming APIs and handling data flows.
