AI, Data Governance & Privacy Officer – Dubai

About the role

The AI, Data Governance & Privacy Officer will establish and operate an enterprise‑wide governance framework for data, artificial intelligence, privacy and responsible digital innovation. Acting as the second‑line governance authority, the role ensures value from data and AI while meeting regulatory, ethical and risk requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain enterprise AI governance policies, standards, controls and approval processes for Agentic AI, Generative AI, machine learning and intelligent automation.
• Develop and run the enterprise data governance framework, including data ownership, quality, metadata, lineage and retention.
• Lead privacy compliance programmes covering UAE PDPL, DIFC Data Protection Law, GDPR and other regional regulations.
• Establish AI risk and model governance, including model validation, performance monitoring and drift detection.
• Monitor evolving AI and data regulations, coordinate audit activities and manage remediation of findings.
• Set governance requirements for AI vendors, SaaS contracts and third‑party data processors.
• Create and deliver training on responsible AI, data governance and data protection to build a culture of responsible innovation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Law or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in data governance, privacy, risk or technology governance, with at least 5 years leading enterprise‑wide initiatives.
• Experience in insurance, financial services or other regulated industries is preferred.
• Hands‑on experience governing AI/ML platforms, generative AI, cloud platforms and enterprise data environments.
