Air Conditioning Technician – Hotel HVAC Maintenance

About the role

The A/C Technician will ensure all air‑conditioning, ventilation and refrigeration systems at Desert Islands Resort & Spa operate efficiently, providing a comfortable environment for guests and staff while adhering to safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Install, inspect, service, maintain and repair split AC units, package units, VRF/VRV systems, fan coil units, air handling units, exhaust fans and related HVAC equipment.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, diagnose faults and carry out repairs to minimise downtime.
• Respond promptly to guest and department maintenance requests and emergency breakdowns.
• Conduct regular inspections of HVAC systems in guest rooms, public areas, back‑of‑house, kitchens and offices.
• Check refrigerant levels, detect leaks and perform charging or recovery in line with environmental regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities and parts usage.
• Coordinate with storekeeper and engineering team to ensure spare parts and tools are available.

Required profile

• Certificate or Diploma in Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, HVAC or related field.
• Minimum of one (1) year of HVAC maintenance experience, preferably in a hotel or commercial setting.
• Ability to read technical drawings, electrical schematics and equipment manuals.
• Familiarity with occupational health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays as required.
