Anesthesia Technician – Hospital

About the role

The Anesthesia Technician provides technical and supportive patient‑care services to anesthesiologists, residents and nurse anesthetists across a wide age range, from infants to geriatrics. Working in a multispecialty hospital, the technician ensures that operating rooms are fully equipped, safe, and ready for every anesthetic procedure.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare anesthetizing locations, set up and calibrate monitoring devices, and stock all required anesthesia supplies.
• Check, assess, and troubleshoot anesthesia equipment, routing non‑functional items for repair.
• Assist anesthesia providers with sterile techniques for peripheral, central, and arterial line placement.
• Support airway management, including mask ventilation, endotracheal intubation, and emergency airway techniques.
• Monitor patient physiology, alert providers to abnormal vital signs, and perform point‑of‑care tests such as ABG and ACT.
• Clean and maintain anesthesia machines, monitors, and related equipment following infection‑control protocols.
• Obtain and prepare blood products and pharmaceuticals, and assist with IV infusion setups.
• Participate in on‑call rotations for emergency surgeries and ensure compliance with OSH and infection‑control policies.

Required profile

• Valid DOH license as an Anesthesia Technologist/Technician for Abu Dhabi, UAE.
• Bachelor’s or Diploma in Anesthesia Technology from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 3–4 years of experience in a multispecialty hospital setting.
• Current Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certifications.
• Excellent command of oral and written English; Arabic is desirable.
