Anesthesia Technician

About the role

The Anesthesia Technician provides technical and supportive patient‑care services to anesthesiologists, residents and nurse anesthetists across a wide age range. Working in the operating rooms of Royal Khalifa City Hospital, the technician ensures equipment readiness, assists with procedures and maintains a safe environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare anesthetizing locations, set up and calibrate monitoring devices, and verify equipment functionality.
• Assist anesthesia providers with airway management, IV/arterial line placement, and regional anesthesia techniques using aseptic technique.
• Monitor patient vital signs, report abnormalities, and support point‑of‑care testing (ABG, ACT).
• Troubleshoot and route malfunctioning equipment for repair; maintain inventory of supplies and emergency airway kits.
• Clean and disinfect anesthesia machines and related equipment after each case.
• Participate in on‑call rotations for emergency surgeries and provide guidance to junior staff.

Required profile

• Valid DOH license as Anesthesia Technologist/Technician for Abu Dhabi.
• Bachelor's or Diploma in Anesthesia Technology from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 3–4 years of experience in a multispecialty hospital setting.
• Excellent command of oral and written English; Arabic is desirable.
• Valid BLS and ACLS certifications.
