Animation Production Manager | Character Development Artist

About the role

A studio is hiring a full-time Animation Production Manager / Character Development Artist to oversee animation production workflows, coordinate creative teams and develop compelling character concepts. The role combines production management with artistic development, covering animation schedules, creative resources, character design and visual storytelling. Candidates must live in the UAE and be legally authorized to work there; tourist and visit visa holders are not eligible.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and oversee animation production from concept to delivery, including schedules, timelines, resource plans and workflows.
• Create and refine character concepts, designs, expressions, poses and visual development materials.
• Collaborate with animators, illustrators, storyboard artists, modelers and creative directors.
• Coordinate character development, visual references, turnarounds and design consistency.
• Monitor progress, review designs and sequences, and manage budgets and team assignments.
• Give creative feedback and coordinate with storyboarding, modeling, rigging, layout and animation departments.
• Solve production challenges, prepare reports and project updates for management.

Required profile

• Proven experience in animation production, character design, visual development or creative project management.
• Strong understanding of animation pipelines, character development and digital animation workflows.
• Experience creating character concepts, model sheets, expressions and visual references.
• Degree in Animation, Digital Arts, Character Design, Multimedia or a related field preferred; portfolio is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Autodesk Maya, Blender, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator or similar tools.
• Familiarity with 2D/3D animation, rigging and storyboarding is an advantage.
• Project coordination, time management, leadership and communication skills.
