Applied AI Engineer

About the role

Fuse Energy is building a fully integrated energy company and needs an Applied AI Engineer to bring AI‑driven features to its consumer products and internal tools. The role blends backend engineering depth with a strong focus on applied AI, helping to improve the energy experience for customers and boost operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy AI‑powered consumer features such as personalised energy recommendations and rapid onboarding using LLM/VLM tools.
• Build and optimise internal AI tools that automate workflows and increase productivity across the company.
• Collaborate with backend engineers, data scientists, trading and operations teams to integrate AI models that align with real‑time market conditions and energy pricing.
• Improve AI models for trading strategies by forecasting weather, demand and supply patterns.
• Monitor performance of AI tools and ensure efficient, reliable operation.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of engineering experience, primarily as a backend engineer.
• Strong interest and practical experience in applied AI or machine learning, preferably with large‑scale models.
• Experience working with large datasets, especially for demand and supply forecasting.

Required skills

• Python (or similar language).
• AI/ML libraries such as TensorFlow and PyTorch.
• Experience with large‑scale models (LLMs, VLMs) and deploying them to production.
• Knowledge of cloud technologies, containerisation and building scalable AI applications.
