Applied AI Engineer

About the role

MDX is hiring an Applied AI Engineer in Dubai on a permanent basis within financial services. The role is for builders who use AI as their primary development environment, shipping applications, platforms and systems end to end rather than writing code without it.

Key responsibilities

• Ideate and build with AI: use AI to explore problem spaces, generate product ideas and turn vague problems into working prototypes
• Use AI tools such as Claude Code or Cursor as the main interface for generating, refactoring, testing and documenting code
• Review and improve AI-generated code, and set up guardrails and feedback loops that surface problems automatically
• Own the full arc from idea and architecture to implementation, deployment and iteration, shipping features to production
• Help build and deploy autonomous AI agents that run continuously, maintain context and take real actions

Required profile

• 2-8 years of software engineering experience, with a shift to AI-first development
• Experience shipping production software, not POCs or side projects
• Fast pace: prototyping, testing with real users and fixing things quickly
• Bonus: experimentation with autonomous agents such as Claude Agent SDK, OpenClaw or OpenAI Codex agents
