Software Engineer - SDET

About the role

The Software Engineer (SDET) provides development expertise across the software development streams and helps implement and automate the quality of ISA's software products and projects. The role covers technology expertise, design, development, deployment and automated testing, and works closely with product teams, project managers and IT solutions managers.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver software products and components for ISA and contribute to the technology stack, design, development, deployment and automated testing.
• Help translate business needs into technical implementations in line with ISA's architectural principles.
• Support testing and implementation of technical solutions, and review technical documentation, user guides, training manuals and system specifications for quality, compliance and completeness.
• Review or give feedback on architectural designs and identify the tools and languages needed for design execution.
• Ensure user interfaces match requirements and are implemented correctly.
• Adopt best practices, new trends and emerging technologies with cross-functional partners, and share knowledge proactively.
• Maintain good working relationships with project managers, product, operations, governance and enterprise development teams, and report status as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in IT Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of hands-on experience building automated tests for web, API or mobile applications; exposure to CI/CD and agile delivery is preferred.
• Fluent in English.

Required skills

• At least one automation framework (Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, RestAssured or equivalent).
• One programming language for automation (Java, C#, Python or JavaScript/TypeScript).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Jenkins or GitHub Actions).
• Solid understanding of HTTP, REST APIs and relational databases.
• Ability to analyse test failures and distinguish real defects from environmental issues.
• Version control (Git) and code review practices, and Agile ceremonies.
