Applied Media Faculty Position

About the role

Higher Colleges of Technology is seeking a full‑time faculty member for its Applied Media program. The successful candidate will deliver instruction to second‑language learners, contribute to curriculum development, and engage in applied research aligned with national innovation priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver applied media courses using educational technology, ensuring alignment with syllabus and program goals.
• Assess student performance through tests, projects, and assignments, providing continuous feedback and maintaining accurate grade records.
• Advise and mentor students, including support during internships and at‑risk action planning.
• Conduct applied research, present at conferences, and contribute to national innovation agendas.
• Participate in faculty, campus, and system‑wide committees and serve as sponsor or adviser to student groups.
• Maintain teaching facilities and manage course content, assessments, and continuous improvement processes.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in a relevant discipline, or a Master’s degree with professional certification and at least 5 years of combined teaching and industry experience; a Bachelor’s degree with extensive industry experience may also be considered.
• Minimum three years of teaching experience in the relevant field.
• At least three years of relevant industry experience, preferably with curriculum development and accreditation experience.
• Demonstrated ability to integrate educational technology into teaching and assessment.
