Arabic Linguist & Cultural Advisor – Full‑Time (10 positions)

About the role

Hoplite Group is seeking ten experienced Arabic‑speaking Cultural Advisors to support a U.S. Air Force mission at Al Dhafra Air Base in the United Arab Emirates. The role involves advising U.S. military leadership on host‑nation culture, providing translation, interpretation, and transcription services, and facilitating cooperation between U.S. and host‑nation personnel.

Key responsibilities

• Advise U.S. military leaders on regional customs, laws, and cultural practices.
• Provide accurate oral interpretation, written translation, and transcription for meetings, briefings, and official documents.
• Support military‑to‑military engagements, distinguished visitor visits, and partnership activities as the primary liaison.
• Coordinate with host‑nation military and government agencies across logistics, contracting, engineering, public affairs, medical, immigration, customs, and other support functions.
• Prepare official correspondence, reports, trackers, presentations, and other administrative products.

Required profile

• U.S. citizen with an active Secret security clearance and ability to maintain eligibility.
• Minimum ILR 3+ or equivalent proficiency in Modern Standard Arabic and English (DLPT or similar).
• Valid U.S. passport and driver’s licenses; ability to obtain required visas and travel documentation.
• At least 2 years of experience as an Arabic linguist, interpreter, translator, cultural advisor, or similar role supporting the U.S. Government or DoD.
• Proven ability to build productive relationships with host‑nation military, government officials, and civilian organizations.

Required skills

• Fluency in Modern Standard Arabic and English.
• Experience with translation, interpretation, and transcription in a defense or government context.
• Knowledge of host‑nation cultural, legal, and procedural frameworks.
