About the role

The University of Manchester – Dubai is seeking academics to contribute to teaching, research and academic quality. The successful candidate delivers research-informed teaching, maintains an active research profile and helps develop programmes, students and the wider academic community. Appointment level depends on experience and research track record.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality teaching aligned with University of Manchester academic standards, design and improve curriculum, assessment and learning materials, give rigorous feedback, advise, supervise and mentor students, and support digital and applied learning approaches.
• Maintain an active research profile, publish peer-reviewed work in recognised journals, integrate research into teaching, collaborate with internal and external partners, and supervise postgraduate research and student projects where appropriate.
• Engage with industry, government and professional bodies, contribute to partnerships that improve student employability, and take part in consultancy, executive education or public engagement.
• Contribute to academic governance, committees and quality assurance, support programme accreditation and continuous improvement, and work with academic and professional services colleagues.

Required profile

• PhD or equivalent terminal degree in a relevant discipline (Business and Finance).
• Strong research track record appropriate to the appointment level.
• Experience in postgraduate teaching in the United Arab Emirates.
• Eligibility to reside in the UAE; academic qualifications must be attested and recognised by the relevant UAE authorities.

Required skills

• Breadth or depth of specialist knowledge in the discipline, with a commitment to developing teaching methods and techniques.
• Strong communication and academic delivery skills.
• Desirable: experience with international accreditation frameworks and outcome-based education, transnational education, and industry engagement or applied research.
