Assistant / Associate / Professor - Education Leadership in Practice (ELiP)

About the role

The University of Manchester – Dubai is seeking an academic to teach and supervise students on its MA Education Leadership in Practice (ELiP) programme. The successful candidate will deliver research-informed teaching, carry out scholarly activity of international standing and support the University's engagement with students and partners across the MENA region. Positions are offered at Assistant, Associate or Professor level depending on experience and research record; candidates with specialist expertise in educational leadership and management, especially in the UAE, are encouraged to apply.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver teaching and project supervision on the MA ELiP programme, preferably in educational leadership and management, and review course content regularly
• Contribute to curriculum design, assessment, moderation and course documentation
• Undertake scholarly activity aligned with the School's research priorities, publish in academic and practitioner journals and supervise postgraduate research and projects
• Lead links with external bodies, employers and professional organisations, and take part in public engagement and knowledge transfer
• Take part in accreditation, quality control, academic committees and examination boards, and help with strategic administrative work
• Advise and mentor students, support their retention and progression, and supervise student research and applied projects

Required profile

• Final degree and completed PhD or equivalent in a relevant discipline
• Relevant professional experience and evidence of successful scholarly activity, including publications
• Experience teaching postgraduates or presenting to postgraduate audiences in the UAE
• Strong knowledge of business and management education in the Middle East
• Willingness to travel internationally and to be eligible to reside and work in the UAE, with qualifications recognised by UAE authorities
• Desirable: experience with international accreditation, transnational education and industry engagement
