Assistant Buyer – Garden Category (Dubai)

About the role

Danube Group is looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Buyer to support its Garden Category team in the UAE. The role will assist the buying function across both retail and e‑commerce channels, focusing on product sourcing, supplier coordination, merchandising, inventory management and market analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Buyer with supplier negotiations, product sourcing and purchase order management.
• Manage product listings, pricing and inventory for e‑commerce platforms and Cash & Carry stores.
• Analyse sales results, customer demand and market trends to inform purchasing decisions.
• Coordinate with marketing teams on product content, promotions and campaigns.
• Monitor product availability and help resolve supply‑chain and inventory issues.
• Research competitors and market trends to identify potential new products.
• Assist with merchandising activities and seasonal buying plans.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and vendors.
• Respond to product‑related customer queries and feedback.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain or a related discipline.
• 1–2 years of experience in buying, merchandising, category management or procurement.
• Experience in garden, home improvement, home décor, DIY or retail is preferred.
• Good understanding of buying procedures, inventory management and supply‑chain operations.
• Strong analytical abilities to interpret sales data and market trends.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and organisational skills.
• Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented and able to thrive in a fast‑paced retail environment.
