Assistant Chief Engineer

About the role

The Assistant Chief Engineer supports the engineering department of a Sheraton hotel in Sharjah, ensuring all mechanical and electrical systems operate safely and efficiently while delivering high‑quality service to guests.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and perform preventative maintenance on tools, appliances, and equipment, including calibration of controls, gauges and meters.
• Inspect, test and document fire‑pump and generator performance, fire sprinkler valves and alarm systems.
• Manage inventory, order parts and maintain purchase order logs.
• Respond to guest repair requests and assist in developing disaster‑response protocols.

Required profile

• Technical or vocational education with at least 2 years of related engineering experience.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in a hospitality or similar environment.
• Ability to follow safety policies, complete safety training and maintain confidentiality.

Required skills

• Calibration of mechanical and electrical controls, gauges and meters.
• Operation of power lifts and handling of equipment up to 50 lb.
• Fire‑pump and generator testing procedures.
• Inspection of fire sprinkler valves and alarm systems.
