Assistant Director of Sales – Hospitality

About the role

The Assistant Director of Sales supports the Director of Sales in managing the hotel’s day‑to‑day sales operations across all market segments. This position focuses on driving revenue growth, developing profitable business opportunities and ensuring the sales team meets its financial and operational targets.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily activities of the sales team across all assigned market segments.
• Support the Director of Sales in implementing departmental standards, strategies and quality guidelines.
• Lead the department’s financial, administrative and operational activities under the Director’s guidance.
• Prepare sales reports, annual business plans, revenue forecasts and expense budgets.
• Manage and develop top‑producing leisure accounts to achieve agreed revenue targets.
• Identify and secure new business opportunities while growing existing accounts.
• Develop, implement and monitor sales strategies to exceed rooms and food & beverage revenue forecasts.
• Conduct regular sales calls, account reviews, market analysis and competitor assessments.
• Welcome and manage hotel site inspections in the Director’s absence.
• Train, coach, motivate and develop sales team members.

Required profile

• Minimum three years’ experience in a sales leadership role, preferably within the hospitality industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Sales or a related field (preferred).
• Proven experience managing key accounts and driving rooms and food & beverage revenue.
• Strong negotiation, presentation and relationship‑management abilities.
