Assistant Financial Analyst - Supply Chain & Logistics

About the role

Al Tayer Insignia, the retail division of Al Tayer Group, is hiring an Assistant Financial Analyst for its supply chain and logistics function in Dubai. This is a 1-year fixed-term contract. The role manages the accounting function of the company (or assigned companies) in line with international accounting standards, so that the financial position is accurately computed and reflected.

Key responsibilities

• Control capital expenditures and ensure accurate capitalization of assets.
• Analyse inter-company, head office expenses and other overheads against budget and seek explanations for variances.
• Allocate common expenses to cost centres and control common accounts.
• Assist in preparing budgets, business plans and forecasts by collecting and verifying data and populating budgeting tools.
• Maintain accruals for services received and compile them in balance sheet schedules.
• Verify sales staff commissions according to agreed criteria and prepare sales and ad hoc reports for management.
• Liaise with operations on foreign exchange requirements and with banks on guarantees and letters of credit.
• Prepare monthly cash flow statements and monthly management reports.
• Facilitate audits by internal and external auditors and implement corrective actions where needed.
• Conduct periodic counts of fixed assets and trading inventory.

Required profile

• Commerce graduate with CA Inter or semi-qualified status.
• 5 to 7 years of experience in an accounting function.
• Knowledge of international accounting practice in a computerized environment and familiarity with IFRS.
• Good analytical, numerical and research skills, and strong organisational and planning abilities, including working under pressure.

Required skills

• PC literate with good Excel knowledge.
• Exposure to ERP solutions.
