Assistant Internal Shari’a Auditor

About the role

The Assistant Internal Shari’a Auditor supports the internal Shari’a audit function, ensuring compliance with Shari’a principles and mitigating related risks across the bank’s operations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning and executing internal Shari’a audit assignments based on risk‑based approach.
• Visit departments to conduct preliminary surveys, identify improvement areas, and plan detailed audits.
• Compile, review and summarize resolutions from Higher Shari’a Authority, CBUAE‑HSA and ADIB ISSC.
• Support development and review of Shari’a audit programs, risk assessments and sampling methodologies.
• Document findings, prepare exception reports and assist in evaluating effectiveness of Shari’a controls.

Required profile

• UAE national with a university degree in Islamic Shari’a or related field.
• Professional certification in Shari’a and Islamic Banking Audit (e.g., AAOIFI, CIBAFI) – optional CIA level 1.
• Fluent in Arabic and English.
• Fresh graduate or up to 2 years of relevant experience.
