Assistant Internal Shari’a Auditor

About the role

The Assistant Internal Shari’a Auditor will support the internal Shari’a audit function in Abu Dhabi, ensuring compliance with Shari’a principles across the bank’s operations. This entry‑level position is suitable for UAE nationals with a background in Islamic Shari’a and audit fundamentals.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the audit team in planning and executing Shari’a audit assignments, including preliminary surveys, risk assessments, and sampling.
• Help compile, review and summarize resolutions from the Higher Shari’a Authority (CBUAE‑HSA) and ADIB Internal Shari’a Supervisory Committee (ISSC).
• Support the development and review of Shari’a audit programs, identification of non‑compliance risks, and evaluation of Shari’a controls.
• Participate in preparing audit findings, exception reports, and management recommendations.

Required profile

• UAE national with a university degree in Islamic Shari’a or a related field.
• Professional certification in Shari’a and Islamic Banking Audit (e.g., AAOIFI, CIBAFI) – optional CIA Level 1.
• Fresh graduate or up to 2 years of relevant experience.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Arabic and English.
• Basic IT skills for audit documentation and data analysis.
