Assistant Manager Compliance (AVP)

About the role

The Assistant Manager Compliance (AVP) supports the Head of CIBG Compliance and the Squad Lead in day‑to‑day KYC and name‑screening activities, ensuring adherence to the bank’s KYC standards and UAE regulatory requirements. The role also acts as a liaison with the Compliance Assurance Unit and Internal Audit, and provides guidance to compliance officers and analysts.

Key responsibilities

• Handle KYC and name‑screening referrals, reviewing high‑risk cases within agreed SLA turnaround times.
• Serve as the primary contact for Compliance Assurance Unit and Internal Audit, coordinating RCSA testing and audit engagements.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of UAE regulator expectations and bank compliance policies, and disseminate updates to stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance, coaching and quality‑assurance oversight to compliance officers and analysts, including complex case reviews.
• Act as backup for the Squad Lead, managing case allocation, escalations and stakeholder engagement during absences.
• Prepare and submit management reports, support operational risk activities, and champion Lean initiatives within the compliance function.
• Lead periodic huddle meetings, ensure timely SOP reviews and align processes with regulatory or policy changes.
• Represent CIBG Compliance in ad‑hoc projects and ensure satisfactory internal‑audit outcomes.

Required profile

• Graduate with 5‑10 years of corporate banking compliance experience.
• Strong knowledge of local UAE regulatory rules and international requirements such as FATCA and CRS.
• Proficient in spoken and written English with good presentation abilities.
• Computer literate with a risk‑based, analytical approach to problem solving.
• Ability to make informed decisions and develop proactive relationships with business units.
