Assistant Manager, Packaging Innovation

About the role

A dynamic and growing food manufacturing business in the region is hiring an Assistant Manager – Packaging Innovation. The role suits someone with a strong background in packaging development for food or beverage products, and involves influencing product quality, cost efficiency and sustainability initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development of packaging solutions for new and existing food products
• Evaluate and select packaging materials (flexible, rigid, etc.)
• Conduct testing related to shelf life, durability and product compatibility
• Ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards such as HACCP and GMP
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Production, QA and Marketing
• Identify opportunities to optimise packaging cost and improve efficiency
• Support sustainability initiatives through innovative packaging approaches

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in packaging development within FMCG or food manufacturing
• Hands-on experience with packaging materials, testing and validation
• Strong understanding of food safety and regulatory requirements
• Proven ability to work closely with factory operations and product teams
• Experience in cost reduction and packaging optimization is a strong advantage
