Assistant Manager - Restaurant

About the role

The Assistant Manager will support the restaurant’s overall performance by driving sales, ensuring operational excellence, and delivering exceptional customer experiences. Reporting to the Brand General Manager, the role oversees staff recruitment, training, visual merchandising, and cost control across the store.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve sales targets and profitability metrics such as units per transaction, average transaction value, and sales per square foot.
• Guide Area Managers and Store Managers to maximize productivity and resource utilization.
• Implement and enforce SOPs, loss‑prevention audits, and visual‑merchandising standards.
• Recruit, train and coach staff on sales techniques, customer service and brand standards.
• Monitor inventory, manage slow‑moving stock and ensure stock security in collaboration with Brand Managers.
• Participate in store design projects, providing guidance to architects and project teams.
• Conduct regular performance reviews, set KPIs and KRA for direct reports and drive employee development.

Required profile

• Identify training and development needs and work with the Brand General Manager and training department to address them.
• Formulate succession plans and set clear KPIs for team members.
• Lead communication initiatives, including regional sales meetings and weekly updates with senior management.
• Evaluate employee performance annually and provide coaching and motivation.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, SOPs and legal responsibilities related to store operations.
