Assistant Merchandise Planning Manager – Retail

About the role

The Assistant Merchandise Planning Manager supports Al-Futtaim Technologies’ planning function by developing accurate financial, sales and inventory plans across all retail channels. Working closely with merchandising, allocation, retail and supply‑chain teams, the role helps forecast sales, margins, markdowns and inventory requirements to drive strong business performance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare the annual business plan by market and business unit and deliver weekly WSSI reports.
• Support markdown management and financial planning, including gross profit, margin and inventory projections.
• Develop seasonal and annual sales plans for each store, category and channel (Retail, E‑Commerce, Omnichannel).
• Build weekly, monthly and seasonal sales forecasts using past performance, trends and business drivers.
• Track performance against plan, highlight risks or opportunities and support the Planning Manager in business‑unit sales planning.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in merchandise planning, retail finance or a related analytical role.
• Strong analytical thinking with proactive decision‑making ability.
• Commercial and financial acumen with experience in cross‑functional alignment.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel reporting skills.
