Assistant Nurse – Pre‑Anesthesia Clinic

About the role

The Assistant Nurse will work within the Pre‑Anesthesia Clinic of American Hospital Dubai, providing patient‑centered nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role supports patients through assessment, daily living activities, and coordination with the healthcare team.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with patient assessment, intervention, and evaluation of health status.
• Support activities of daily living such as bathing, feeding, and mobility.
• Monitor and document vital signs, intake/output, and pain levels.
• Remove peripheral IV lines and perform routine procedures like blood draws as directed.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to the Registered Nurse and maintain accurate records.
• Follow infection‑control protocols, dispose of contaminated waste, and ensure unit cleanliness.

Required profile

• Diploma in Nursing (minimum 18‑month program) with a current valid Dubai Health Authority (DHA) license.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Knowledge of quality improvement, nursing standards, and infection control.
