Assistant Pastry Chef

About the role

The Colbert Collection at Dukes The Palm Dubai Hotel is seeking an Assistant Pastry Chef to support its luxury pastry and bakery operations. You will work closely with the Pastry Chef to maintain high standards of quality, presentation, and innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily pastry and bakery production, ensuring consistency, cost efficiency, and adherence to luxury standards.
• Develop new pastry concepts, design menu items, and assist in menu development.
• Maintain proper food handling, temperature control, storage, and hygiene practices.
• Train, coach, and manage the pastry team while upholding safety and service excellence.
• Collaborate on refined menus, standardized recipes, and innovative offerings to enhance guest experience.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a large luxury hotel (minimum 500 rooms); pre‑opening experience is a plus.
• Strong communication, active listening, and flexibility to work shifts.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Proven pastry and bakery production skills.
• Menu development and recipe standardization.
• Knowledge of health, hygiene, and safety standards.
