Assistant Plant Operator - Cement Blocks & Bricks

About the role

A cement blocks and bricks manufacturer is looking for a reliable Assistant Plant Operator with at least 1 year of relevant experience. The role supports the Plant Operator in running and monitoring batching plant machinery, helping with batching and production of concrete, cement blocks and bricks, handling raw materials and keeping plant operations safe, efficient and on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Plant Operator in operating and monitoring batching plant machinery and its control systems.
• Support production of concrete, cement blocks and bricks to approved specifications and schedules.
• Handle and batch cement, aggregates, water and other raw materials accurately.
• Monitor mixers, conveyors, hoppers and silos, and check equipment before and during production, reporting faults promptly.
• Support loading, material handling and routine production activities.
• Coordinate with the Plant Operator, Quality Control team and other staff to keep quality and workflow on track.
• Maintain production records and help with material consumption and equipment logs.
• Help with basic cleaning, routine maintenance and housekeeping.
• Follow company procedures, quality standards and HSE requirements.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of experience in cement blocks/bricks manufacturing, RMC or a similar concrete production environment; experience in cement blocks/bricks is mandatory.
• Ability to follow instructions, keep production records and work well in a team.
• Physically fit and willing to work in an industrial plant and shift work.
• Strong commitment to safety, product quality and production targets.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of plant operations, concrete production, raw materials and manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with mixers, conveyors, batching equipment or block-making machinery.
• Basic understanding of equipment checks, troubleshooting and routine maintenance.
